2020 Oregon Wildfires—Red Skies Over Local Farm Fields

During the first few days of of the 2020 Oregon wildfires, all production at Gathering Together Farm ceased to a halt as workers stayed home for their safety. Just two of us came in to prepare produce for delivery the following day. Justin headed up to Portland for the only market of the week (AQI wasn’t bad up there yet), and I headed to the coast to deliver about 50 CSA boxes to the employees who work at the Newport Good Samaritan Health Center.

After we had finished getting everything ready for the next day’s departure, I headed out to one of my favorite spots on the farm that season, a particularly healthy patch of brassicas, and snapped a shot of the red skies over the little hill we farm under.
