Okra & Turmeric Flowers at Kevin Cruz’s Food Forest in Naples, Florida

Kevin Cruz’s agroecological food forest is in its second year of growth after he started farming his family’s land in southwest Florida. Lots in the swamps are quite large and Kevin’s been expanding his operation bit by bit, chopping and dropping, building soil, and growing food. On my last visit in January of 2022, he experienced an uncommon cold streak where it dropped below freezing three nights in a row. The food forrest was set back a bit, but already by August there’s nothing but abundance!

Kevin manages his family’s land as an agroecological farm in the states as well as in their hometown in Las Guacamayas, Honduras. To learn more about his incredible land regeneration project, watch his YouTube video below. And if you can donate what you’re able, here’s the link to his GoFundMe. His work is so important, and every little bit of help makes a difference!
