Peruvian Apple (Kadushi)

Cereus repandus

Also known as Cereus peruvianus, manzana peruana, kadushi, cadushi, and koubos, this cactus fruit sets itself apart from all the others as the only spike-free, easy-to-harvest variety! As far as flavor and texture go, they are just like a dragon fruit, a little on the sweeter side like the yellow varieties. With a texture like a ripe kiwi with pleasantly crunchy little black seeds and a mild sweet flavor, Peruvian apple cactus fruit are delicious.

The fruits tend to open up on the plant when ripe, making harvest for sale a little challenging, but the plants can tolerate light frost, and that spike-free fruit is a big seller!
