Spinach

Latin Name: Spinacia oleracea

Spanish: espinaca

Known far and wide for making you strong, spinach and pretty much every green in the Amaranthaceae family are rich in flavor and highly nutritious. Spinach leaves are both succulent and crunchy, with a deeply fresh green flavor when enjoyed raw and becomes melt-in-your-mouth smooth when cooked. Spinach prefers growing in the cooler shoulder seasons of spring and fall, during which times it is absolutely glowing in its prime. Look closely and you’ll notice that deep green spinach often has cute pink little toes toward the root.
